2. The PE department will be running an intramural Ultimate Frisbee league during IE and is looking for more teams. If there is anyone interested in signing up as an individual or as a whole team, please contact Mr. Alix.
3. The New London FFA will be sponsoring a big buck contest for the deer hunting season. If you want to participate in this contest:
1. Measure the outside widest spread of the antlers - take a picture of you measuring it
2. Take a picture of the antlers so all points can be counted.
3. Email Mrs. Retzlaff the pictures by January 5, 2025.
4. You will then be eligible to win one of three Kwik Trip gift card prizes.

4. If anyone is interested in joining the Trap Shooting team we are having an informational meeting on Tuesday November 12th during I/E in Mr. Gruentzel’s Room. We will talk about the season and what you need to do to be part of it. We will also talk about costs involved and share the fundraising calendars that we will be selling this year. You can sign up in the I/E scheduler or email Mr.Gruentzel to get on the list.
5. Tickets are on sale now for this year’s musical: Guys and Dolls! Tickets can be purchased online. The cost is $15 for adults, $8 for students. In this show, you will see wayward gambler, Nathan Detroit, make a bet with Sky Masterson that he can’t con a pious volunteer from the Save a Soul Mission to go on a date with him in Havana. There are dance numbers, laughs, and incredible musical numbers that you won’t want to miss!
6. On Wednesday, November 20 National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive with the Community Blood Center. Did you know that 1 pint of blood can help save up to 3 lives? Did you know that 1 out of 7 people entering a hospital needs blood? Did you know that someone needs blood every 2 seconds? Please consider donating blood if you are 17 years old (16 with parental permission), weigh 110 pounds, and are in good health. All eligible students and staff are invited to participate. Sign up to donate during lunch on Wednesday, November 13th or Thursday, November 14. Donors will receive a free t-shirt on November 20th!
7. It is important to make sure your actions match up with your personal values and beliefs. Not doing so results in cognitive dissonance, which is defined as the perception of contradictory thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and the mental toll and anguish it can cause an individual. Also, recognize how your authentic, honest behavior can positively impact your family, friends, and community.
