( ) Review your list of universities or technical colleges. The counseling office encourages all applications to be completed by October 31st.
( ) You should have visited the colleges you are planning on applying to. If you have not, this should be done prior to your final decision on the school you will be attending.
( ) Most colleges use online applications which should be located on their webpage. All University of Wisconsin applications can be found at https://apply.wisconsin.edu/homepage .
( ) College essays/personal statements are important; write a draft and have someone with English skills (your English teacher or counselor) evaluate it. Clear, concise writing is important.
( ) Request letters of recommendation early - give your writer at least two weeks to write the letter. Pick up the Letter of Recommendation form in the Student Service Center and take to the person you are asking the recommendation from.
( ) Pick up the Transcript Request sheet in the Student Services Center, and complete and return to the appropriate secretary. Be sure you that you complete the appropriate information for ACT.
( ) Most of all, contact your school counselor if you have any questions regarding this process.
